چکیده
Abstract Introduction CPAP/APAP therapy remains the gold standard for treating OSA. Unfortunately, many patients struggle with long term adherence. Patients frequently have only 90 days to meet Medicare criteria adherence assure coverage of their therapy. Lack often leads reevaluation, and a new trial CPAP/APAP. Despite all these efforts significant number are ultimately unsuccessful. When this process is drawn out over months it can drain resources, time patient motivation. We sought determine if we could, during first 30 therapy, identify those who were going be Methods A retrospective data analysis was completed on 7498 naive began in 2020-2021 ResMed devices. Data analyzed percent (>4h/night) at days, 60 180 365 days. Additionally, AHI, sex, state, mask refits, payor type (HMO, Medicare, self-pay, Advantage Medicaid Advantage) examined. Results 68% male. The age 55.1±14.0 AHI 29.8±25 (mean±SD). 1157 < 10% adherent (no more than 3 >4h) Of 1157, 312 (27%) showed any use 4h. remaining 845 (73%) no >4h At one year 220 (19%) original one, 83% other variables including not independent predictors Conclusion unlikely achieve follow up. Identifying intervening early population may facilitate ultimate or successful initiation alternative therapies. Support (if any)

متن کاملPersistence of Upper-Airway Symptoms During CPAP Compromises Adherence at 1 Year.
BACKGROUND The most common adverse effects of CPAP are related to the upper airways. We evaluated upper-airway symptoms before and after a CPAP trial as well as their effect on CPAP adherence. We also evaluated the effect of humidification added to CPAP therapy on upper-airway symptoms. METHODS We followed for 1 y 536 subjects with obstructive sleep apnea scheduled consecutively for CPAP init...
